Cauquenes is a historic location for Chile's winemaking tradition. Embedded in the Maule Valley, its privileged climate and clay and granite rich soils give this Cabernet Sauvignon unique structure and fresh fruit expression.

Bright, intense, violet-red.

Aroma
Expresses delicate notes of black fruits, such as plums and cherries, accompanied by a delicate touch of toast from ageing in oak barrels.

Palate
This Cabernet Sauvignon is very well structured with pronounced character, firm tannins, and an abundance of fruit, such as plums and black cherries. Pleasing toast from the oak lends greater complexity, and the finish is long and persistent.

History: "More than 100 years ago, Don Melchor de Concha y Toro reserved for himself an exclusive batch of his best wines. To keep strangers away from his private reserve, he spread the rumour that the Devil lived in his cellar. Hence the name: Casillero del Diablo" (The Devil's Cellar)

Regional information: Located 250 kilometres south of Santiago, Chile, the Maule Valley is Chile's largest wine region and has tremendous geographical and climatic diversity and versatility. Very rainy winters and warm summers, along with relatively infertile soils, enable the production of very high-quality red wines such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Carmenere.

Vinification: Clay soils, rich in water retention and nutrients, are what give life to Reserva Especial. The result? Wines with remarkable structure, and a pronounced fruity expression.
