The prize was awarded at the famous Barbados Rum Festival, where the rum won the Platinum Award in 2002.
The constant cool climate and the control of the noise level, humidity, light and temperature allow this special rum to mature gently. The various casks in which whisky, sherry and wines were previously stored give this rum its very special note.
Lorena Vasquez, the master blenders of Ron Zacapa and Ron Botran, specially selects the casks to give the rum its fine tastes and scents.
